How to Choose the Best Movers in Montreal
When comparing movers in Montreal, check these five things: (1) REQ certification — required by Quebec law. (2) Proof of insurance — not just verbal assurance. (3) Clear written estimates — published hourly rates, travel fee, and minimum hours. (4) Verified reviews — check Google, not just their website. (5) Own trucks and crews — avoid brokers who subcontract your move.
Objective Moving Company Criteria
A mover deserves to be shortlisted when they can show REQ registration, liability insurance, a written quote, a named service area, recent review volume, and a clear plan for stairs, elevators, parking, heavy items, and timing. Up & Out uses this checklist on local, student, office, and long-distance quotes.
Proof Points Before You Book
Ask for the final hourly or flat-rate structure, travel fee, minimum hours, tax handling, crew size, truck size, insurance proof, and what happens if the move takes longer than expected. Up & Out puts these details in writing so you can compare against other Montreal movers before you commit.
