Milton-Parc sits just north of McGill University's main campus, bounded roughly by University, Pine, Park, and Sherbrooke. Known colloquially as the McGill Ghetto, the neighborhood is dominated by student apartments in older walk-up buildings, historic co-operative housing (the Milton-Parc Citizens' Committee helped create one of Canada's largest housing co-ops), and some converted Victorian homes. Moving here means tight parking on Milton, Lorne, and Hutchison, narrow staircases in century-old buildings, and the August/September student rush.
